SEGNALE DIGITALE 1995-1990.
The production experience and the direct approach towards so many fermenting musical scenes, take
Segnale Digitale to a natural deepening of the many musical and artistic experiences that explode in Europe and America at that time.
This approach gives the crew a chance to come closer to the thematic of the independent production world and pushes towards a natural research of the roots of the new digital sounds that explode during these years, which inevitably lead to a deepening of the reggae and dub musical tradition.
The first contact with the magic uplifting notes takes place in the distant 70s, with the coming out of
Marley’s "Catch a Fire" and the first Jamaican vinyl imported from London. The
Bob Marley concert in Milan’s S. Siro stadium in 1980 was crucial for the evolution of
Segnale Digitale. Historic due to its social implications, it brought together almost one hundred thousand people in peace and in harmony to listen to reggae’s highest prophet. It was the first get-together that saw so many people singing together for more than three hours in peace against Babilon … which wasn’t easy in those years!!!! After the concert, part of the crew immediately took a trip to
Jamaica where the true deep Rastamen soul helped recover the authentic and genuine identity of the people of that land, giving the
Segnale Digitale crew a wealth of fresh experience and knowledge, inexhaustible after all these years.
The "Positive Vibes" and absorbed energy thanks to the unique meeting with the history of music are still alive in the spirit of the crew and provide deep inspiration for
Segnale Digitale’s activities and future projects.
